About the Client
Our client is an Accounting & Tax advisory firm based in New Zealand, looking to build their offshore team to support their accounting function. They provide a combination of compliance, management reporting, coaching, and cashflow forecasting services to help businesses stay financially informed and growth-focused. This role exists to support the delivery of accurate financial reporting and tax compliance while helping maintain efficient practice workflows.
The Role
As a Junior / Intermediate Accountant, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day delivery of accounting and tax compliance work across a range of clients. You’ll support financial reporting, bookkeeping, GST and tax return preparation, while working closely with the onshore team to ensure deadlines are met and client communication remains seamless. This role is ideal for someone technically capable, highly organized, and eager to continue building their New Zealand accounting experience in a collaborative environment.
What You'll Do
Prepare annual financial statements, income tax returns, and GST returns for various entity structures
Generate monthly management reports and assist with budgeting and cashflow forecasting
Perform bookkeeping and Xero processing tasks with accuracy and efficiency
Support provisional tax calculations and NZ tax compliance requirements
Assist in managing workflow pipelines to ensure jobs progress on time
Communicate with clients and internal stakeholders via email and MS Teams
What We're Looking For
At least 1 year of post-study experience within a New Zealand accounting environment
Strong working knowledge of Xero and Microsoft Excel/Word
Good understanding of accrual accounting principles
Working knowledge of New Zealand GST and Income Tax requirements
Strong attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
Professional written communication and organizational skills
Experience preparing management reports and forecasts
Exposure to working directly with offshore or remote teams
Familiarity with practice management workflows and deadline coordination
