About the Client
Our client is a Financial Advisory and Outsourced CFO Services firm based in New Zealand, growing their existing offshore team to support their accounting function. They partner with startups and high-growth businesses to provide financial clarity, forecasting, and strategic insights that remove the day-to-day stress of managing finances. This role exists to ensure high-quality, timely financial delivery across multiple client engagements.
The Role
As a Senior Management Accountant, you’ll support multiple Virtual CFOs in delivering accurate, insightful financial outputs across a portfolio of clients. You’ll play a key role in financial forecasting, reporting, and analysis, helping clients better understand and manage their financial performance. Success in this role looks like consistently delivering high-quality work on time, while proactively contributing to process improvements and client outcomes.
What You'll Do
Prepare monthly financial reports, including cashflow forecasts and P&L analysis
Build and maintain financial forecast models from scratch
Conduct financial analysis to support client decision-making
Assist with grant applications and project-based financial work
Collaborate with tax accountants, bookkeepers, and internal stakeholders
Review and support implementation of financial systems and processes
Support internal operations, including process improvements and team coordination
What We're Looking For
At least 5+ years of accounting experience in a commercial environment
Strong financial modelling skills with advanced Excel proficiency (e.g., LOOKUP, SUMIFS, INDEX)
Proven experience in forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis
Experience working with SME ERP systems (e.g., Xero, MYOB, Sage)
High level of accuracy, accountability, and ability to meet deadlines
Experience in product-based businesses (e.g., manufacturing, retail, FMCG, distribution)
Chartered Accountant (or equivalent) qualification
Experience with inventory systems (e.g., Unleashed, Cin7)
Exposure to SaaS or funds management industries
Experience with tools like Spotlight Reporting or AI platforms
